R 715
5mg vial
Modest sleep-efficiency gainsSchneider-Helmert: 16 chronic insomniacs on IV DSIP 25 nmol/kg over three nights showed statistically higher sleep efficiency and shorter sleep latency than placebo.
Investigated in withdrawal symptomsSmaller open-label work has reported symptom relief in opiate and alcohol withdrawal.
Crosses the blood-brain barrierReaches CNS targets after peripheral administration despite its peptide structure.
Short cycle, low-dose footprintResearch use limited to 1–4 weeks at sub-milligram doses, keeping exposure minimal.
DSIP is a nonapeptide isolated by Schoenenberger and Monnier in 1977 from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits in induced slow-wave sleep. The receptor target has never been definitively identified, and its endogenous role remains debated. It crosses the blood-brain barrier and has been investigated for sleep, stress response, and opioid/alcohol withdrawal symptoms.
